Nutrition Education Campaigns

Dairy Australia’s advertising campaigns seek to educate Australians about how important it is for all of us, young and old, to make sure we have our three serves of dairy each and every day.

Advertising Campaigns

Dairy Australia’s advertising campaigns seek to educate Australians about how important it is for all of us, young and old, to make sure we have our three serves of dairy each and every day.

Dairy foods, like milk, cheese and yogurt, are naturally packed with a unique combination of 10 essential nutrients our bodies need through-out our lives. Equally important, dairy foods are something we love to eat!

Current TV Advertising

Our current TV advertising campaign, 'dairygood for life' highlights how dairy helps to make us feel good through-out our lives.

The campaign tells the story of a mischievous woman growing from babyhood to parenthood, stealing tastes of dairy along the way. It celebrates how dairy is an integral part of her healthy lifestyle, helping her come full circle to raising her own healthy, happy child.

While the adverts close on our main character becoming a parent, we expect that she and her husband will continue to consume dairy for the rest of their lives, passing on the knowledge of all the things dairy is “good for” to not only their children, but their grandchildren and perhaps even great-grandchildren!

The adverts highlight that consuming dairy (particularly milk, cheese and yogurt) is a great way to make sure you you get most of the nutrients you need through-out your life. That’s because these foods contain the following nutrients (and their related benefits):

  • Vitamin A (for Eyes, Skin, Growth, Development)
  • Protein (for Hair, Growth, Development)
  • Zinc (for Skin, Growth, Development)
  • Riboflavin (for Skin)
  • Carbohydrates (for Energy)
  • Phosphorus (for Energy, Growth, Development)
  • Vitamin B12 (for Growth, Development)
  • Magnesium (for Growth, Development, Energy)
  • Potassium (for Nerve Function)

You can find out more about dairy’s nutritional benefits here.

But it’s not just all about the nutritional benefits of dairy. Dairy foods like milk, cheese and yogurt are also good for:

  • Decorating (don’t babies love to play with their food?)
  • Sharing (how many of you have snuck a sip out of the family carton of milk?)
  • Romance (how many romances start over a shared piece of food, like some delectable cheese?)
  • Taste (with dairy found in 96% of Australian households, it appears just about everyone loves it!)

Current Print Advertising

In addition to the TV campaign, there is also a magazine advertising campaign running in a variety of women’s magazines. These adverts have been developed because:

  • Regular fat milk and yogurt are lower in fat than many consumers might think (though of course there are also many delicious low fat, reduced fat and skim/diet dairy foods available for those who are watching their fat intake). For more information about the fat content of dairy foods, please click here
  • Many people are unaware that dairy foods contain protein. Protein helps you feel full without weighing you down. Click here for more information about the nutritional content of dairy foods.
